About Us
          Founded in 2015 by a group of high schoolers in the San Francisco Bay area, Shin Shin Youth Group was designed to assist Shin Shin Educational Foundation, support local charities and communities, and develop leadership qualities within youth.
          ​Shin Shin Educational Foundation, the parent organization of Shin Shin Youth Group, provides educational resources, long term care, love and other services to elementary and middle schools in the remote, rural and despondent regions of China, with the objective to improve their learning environment and basic facilities and reduce the disparity in the quality of education between urban and rural areas in China.
          As an organization based around youth, Shin Shin Youth Group gives students the chance to utilize their talents, abilities and leadership to serve the local community and help Shin Shin Educational Foundation in fulfilling its mission. Our purpose is to help cultivate the next generation of youth leaders, to continue the work of Shin Shin Educational Foundation. To help students develop their leadership abilities, we allow them to direct and participate in a variety of events that benefit their local communities.

Meet the Cabinet

My name is Christopher Liu, and I am a senior at Valley Christian High School. For the past five years, I have been an active member of the ShinShin Youth Group, where I have had the privilege of organizing numerous activities and serving in various capacities. The experiences I have gained during my time with the group have shaped me into a dedicated and passionate individual. I am incredibly excited to serve this year as Co-President, and my goal is to lead the group to its fullest potential, providing our members with fun and engaging opportunities to give back to our community. Through collaborative efforts, I believe we can make a significant impact and create lasting change. Outside of my involvement with the SSYG, I have a deep passion for art, cooking, and debate. I am genuinely thrilled to meet and work with each and every one of you. Together, let's make this year unforgettable as we strive to make a positive difference in our community.

Hey! My name is Yiwen, and I'm one of the co-presidents this year. I'm a junior at Mission San Jose High School, and have been a part of the Shin Shin Youth Group for 4 years. As an active member, I've gained so many opportunities to volunteer and learn many crucial skills through service events. As president this year, I look forward to collaborating with the rest of the youth group to bring exciting events and meeting new people in the process. Aside from the Shin Shin Youth Group, I also do kung fu and play the flute. I love listening to music (kpop!), traveling, and spending time with my friends. I am so excited to meet and work with everyone!

Hi, my name is Katherine and I’m a junior at Irvington High School. I’ve been with Shin Shin Youth Group for three years, and I’ve participated in many volunteer events regularly. I’ve also organized volunteer events at Fa Yun Chan Temple, Second Harvest, and Family giving tree. As a vice president, I’ll do my best to continue organizing different volunteer events, offer better services to Shin Shin youth team members, and work with the team to promote Shin Shin activities to our community!

​Hi, I’m Claire, and I am a sophomore at Homestead High School. This is my third year with Shin Shin, and I am so happy to be helping the organization as the Publicity Manager. I was Publicity Assistant last year, and I also loved volunteering in various Shin Shin activities such as Learning Beyond Borders, gift distributions, organizing, fundraising, and more. This year, I look forward to improving both the community as well as myself. Outside of SSYG, I love art, tennis, movies, and rollercoasters!! I look forward to this year with all of you.

Hello! I'm Melody Dai, a sophomore at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. I’ve been in Shin Shin Youth Group for three years, and this is my second year in cabinet. I often volunteer at Animal Assisted Happiness and Resource Area For Teaching, though I have also participated in Rose Garden Pruning, Santa Clara City Park Cleaning, CSA Holiday Card Making, and City Team Food Serving. I play volleyball and have been attending choir for nine years.  I will be your HR Manager this year, and I'm very excited to work with everyone again!​

Hi! My name is Andy and I am a sophomore  at Mission San Jose High School. I’ve been a part of the Shin Shin Youth Group for three years, and I participated in many events in that time. I helped with making holiday cards, assisting Fertile Groundworks, pruning a rose garden,  fundraising and many other fun activities. I also like to play competitive badminton as well as competitive math. As your IT manager, I will help manage and update  the website.

​Hi, my name is Elliot Lu, and I will be your IT Assistant for 2024-2025. I am a sophomore at Homestead High School and have been a part of the ShinShin Youth Group for three years. During this time, I have actively participated in numerous volunteer events, including fundraisers and Learning Beyond Borders. I enjoy working with computer hardware, electronics, programming, and 3D design. I am excited to collaborate with everyone as the IT Assistant this year!

Joyce is a well rounded student entering 10th grade at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. When she's not hitting the books, she's likely to be found on the field! She's a member of the varsity track, cross-country, and badminton teams, showcasing her athleticism and competitive spirit. Beyond athletics, she also loves reading novels from mysteries to memoirs.

Hey, I’m Jasmine Qian, and I’m a sophomore at Homestead High school. I have been a part of ShinShin Youth Group for about two years now, and have volunteered at numerous places such as RAFT and Family Giving Tree. I swim competitively and in my free time enjoy baking. As a PEM, I hope to find new locations to organize new volunteering events.

Hello, my name is Alexander, a freshman at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. I have been a part of Shin Shin Youth Group since December of 2022 and will serve as a PEM this year. I actively volunteer and have organized events at RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching), and have participated in numerous volunteering events, including Turkey Trot, Learning Beyond Borders, Rose Garden Pruning, fundraisers, Toy Distribution at Sacred Heart, and AAH. I compete in  VEX Robotics Competitions and enjoy Robotics as a whole. As a PEM, I will try to the best of my ability to provide enjoyable volunteering opportunities.​

Hi, my name is Aaron, and I am a sophomore at Homestead High School. I love playing tennis and play it competitively. I also enjoy talking to different people and socializing. I have participated in many Shin Shin volunteering events, such as City Team and Learning Beyond Borders, and through these experiences, I have learned to enjoy and value volunteering. This year, as your Program and Events Manager, I hope to bring more of these amazing experiences to you and find some new and interesting ones that I know you guys will love.

​​My name is Tianchen. I’m a sophomore in the Campolindo High School at Moraga this year. I am so happy to join SSYG and serve as the Branch Manager of the North Bay Branch. I like swimming, running, skiing, video production and chess.
My relationship with Shin Shin began in 2020, when I had the honor of participating in the Shin Shin Online program of Embrace China, which has continued by now, especially this summer, when I flied to China to attend the Shin Shin summer camp of Embrace China. I met many friends and served as volunteer with them in SSYG, such as air interaction, Turkey trout, greeting card making, etc. By participating in these activities, I not only experienced the joy of sharing and giving, but also learned a lot of interesting knowledge. I am very glad to work for the North Bay branch of SSYG this year. I look forward to leading our members to have fun and provide better service to the local community during 2024-2025, so that more people can benefit from it.
