Today, October 8th, the Shin Shin Youth group members volunteered for the River of Life Foundation’s Food Pantry. The foundation helps serve 8,000+ portions of Hot Meals and delivers fresh groceries to more than 15,000 households in need every month. For 2 and a half hours, we filled bags of groceries with lentils, rice, red cherries, and more in an assembly line. Others helped assemble fruits and vegetables like onions, potatoes, and cabbage.
It was my first time so I did not know what to expect, but I enjoyed it. It felt very productive and I liked the feeling of knowing I was helping people in need. In the future, I hope to be a more active part of the community and help out in more events.
