RAFT is a certified Green Organization and depends upon the donations of office supplies, decorating items, books, and otherwise disposable materials to their warehouse. With careful planning and design, these donations become inexpensive supplies to be converted into projects and kits for classrooms.
ShinShin has been partnering with RAFT regularly to help them prepare various projects and activities kits for teachers. For the service on October 1st, the Shin Shin Youth Group was required to cut paper boards into flower-shaped paper, sort out beads and instructional kits for STEM projects, and work on cutting fabrics for an activity about the physics of gravity.
In addition to its workshops, RAFT has a store at the same location where member-based educators can come to shop, collaborate, and learn. RAFT has been called the “Costco” of educator supplies, and has been known for its cost-efficient and unique goods. It is always an entertaining and pleasurable experience to work and shop at RAFT.
