On Saturday September 16, Shin Shin Youth Group members volunteered at RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching) in San Jose. Our tasks for the day included quality-checking previously packaged activity kits and organizing/distributing bulk materials.
Our first duty was to inspect and ensure the completeness of packaged activity kits designed to create pumpkins with LEDs to light up the eyes. Later, we reviewed the "buzz off" activity kits, which, when assembled and spun, emitted a loud buzzing noise. In total, we checked around 500 kits before taking a short break, snacking on candies and exploring the store. Our next task after our break was to package silicone figures, including fruits, ninjas, aliens, and cats into small bags. The volunteers agreed that the cutest among these figurines were the cats because they looked silly. After approximately an hour and a half, we finished packaging the figures and had some more time to explore the store before concluding.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable volunteering experience for our members, and many of them wanted to volunteer here again.
