The Hope’s Corner organization is currently organizing many projects to support families in need across cities in the Bay Area, including the Hope’s Corner meal program and Hope’s Corner shower and laundry program. This December, Shin Shin joined the Hope’s Corner Holiday Toy Drive program, distributing Christmas gifts to children in need all across the Bay Area.
The Shin Shin volunteers worked in two shifts of the drive: lunchtime and the late afternoon. Everyone participated in packing and distributing the various new and unwrapped gifts, consisting LEGOS, arts and crafts, action figures, sports equipment, stuffed toys, and much more. Children under the age of 14 are eligible to receive four items through the program, while individuals between the ages of 15 and 18 are able to receive three items and a gift card. Just picture the childrens’ joy upon receiving their gifts! Shin Shin is incredibly grateful for every volunteers’ help in spreading the holiday cheer to local families in need this Christmas, and will continue to take part in more volunteer work throughout the winter season.
