The Parisi House is a residential drug and alcohol treatment center in Santa Clara County. The founders of Parisi House created the annual Garden Party Fundraiser to support mothers in crisis, as well as their young children, as they overcome their addictions and rebuild their lives.
Before the main event of the fundraiser began, our volunteers were instructed to decorate the venue in the front yard, where guests would be attending the party. There were around 20 tables to be decorated with tablecloths and bouquet centerpieces. In addition, posters of women who had been previously assisted by Parisi House and their stories were positioned around the venue. The guests soon arrived to enjoy drinks, appetizers, and desserts, while members of Parisi House shared many of the past transformative experiences of their program. ShinShin Youth Group attended the event for the second year this October, and it was a great experience to get to know such a compassionate and caring group of people, willing to share their stories to keep families together and break the cycle of addiction.
