On October 2, 2021, a group of Shin Shin Volunteers collaborated with the Parisi House to help with their annual fundraiser, supporting mothers who are trying to rebuild their lives by breaking the cycle of addiction. The event was really engaging, featuring “singers [who] gave performances, and speeches [...] made by those whose lives had been changed by the Parisi House.” (Nollan Xu) One of the volunteers noted, “Parisi House helps women with their struggle to overcome addiction, which is a noble cause, and something that is necessary and appreciated in this stressful world where alcohol and drugs seep into people's lives and ruin them.” (Jeremy Chen) This fun and exciting event was all for a great cause, and at the same time “it was nice to see so many people in one place again.” (Emily Tang) After this great experience, we hope to continue partnering with Parisi House as they continue to make a positive change on the lives of many women by fostering a safe and caring environment.
